Project: Maher's Story

When Maher was 18 and living in Iraq, he used Google Translate to teach himself English. Forced from his home by violence, his story continues today in America – day by day, word by word. Maher's Story was part of a campaign by Google to raise funds and awareness on World Refugee Day. Google CEO, Sundar Pichai launched a call to action via Twitter with an offer to match up to $500,000 in donations to the International Rescue Committee.
